The people of Kano State are waiting to see who Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will appoint as replacements for the recently dismissed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, and Chief of Staff, Shehu Wada Sagagi. The governor’s decision to sack these top officials has sparked widespread speculation and curiosity about the new appointees.
Governor Yusuf’s move is part of a broader effort to enhance the efficiency of his administration and better serve the needs of Kano residents. As the state awaits these crucial appointments, the public remains hopeful that the new officials will bring fresh perspectives and drive positive change.
Immediately after the announcement of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s cabinet reshuffle through his Chief Press Secretary, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Kano residents began thinking about capable people who could fill the vacuum of five commissioners and the vacant positions of Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff.
Even though the action had been circulating before the final decision, some people commented on social media, expressing surprise at why the governor dropped the SSG despite the role he played during the 2023 general election. Dr. Bichi was the 2023 Kano South senatorial candidate of the NNPP, represented the party at INEC during the announcement of results, and tried his best towards the victory of the party.
However, Shehu Wada Sagagi, in 2023, held the chairmanship of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State Sagagi’s position as PDP chairman led to the failure of the party in Kano before he left the party and joined NNPP.
The two major positions removed by the Kano State governor are waiting to witness who could be appointed as their replacements.
