The Kano State Drugs and Substances Abuse,control, certification and miscellaneous provisions 2023(1445 A.H.) had scaled second reading in the floor of the House during today’s plenary session on 30, January 2024.
In a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State House, Aba Abdullahi, said, “The was sponsored by Hon. Abdulhamid Abdul Minjibir, and introduced by the Majority Leader and member representing Dala Local Government Constituency, Hon.Lawan Hussaini Dala, received a series of debates and contributions from the members of the House. However, said, “If the bill passed into law would address the issues on using illegal drugs and other substances in the State.”
According to him, “ The bill was committed to the House Standing Committees on Judiciary, Health and Women Affairs for further Legislative treatment and was given eight weeks within which to report back to the House.”
Similarly the State government has called upon to construct a road from Rurum to Bakin-Fa through Kazaurawa which linked Ghana,Gunduma,Bul and Saya-Saya in Rano and Kibiya Local government areas.
This followed a joint motion presented to the House by Hon. Ibrahim Muhd Malami (Rano Constituency) and Hon.Garba Shehu Fammar, Deputy Majority Leader (Kibiya Constituency)
The motion which was read by Hon.Ibrahim Muhammad Malami dwelt on the importance of the said road to the socioeconomic and political development of the Areas.
Later the House agreed and call on the State government for the construction of the said road.
