KNSG launches guidelines for quality education, institutes state speech prize giving day for secondary schools

The Chairman of the House Committee on Education Kano State House Assembly, Hon. Sulaiman Muktar Ishaq, has launched the 2024 guidelines, schedule of duty, and co-curricular for secondary schools in the state.
He also formally instituted the zonal and state “speech and prize-giving day” for the effective delivery of education in Senior Secondary Schools across the state.
The event, which was organized by the Kano State Senior Secondary School Management Board, KSSSMB, was aimed at providing a roadmap for running the schools efficiently.
The Chairman said, ” This initiative would support in achieving the policy of the Kano State government on elevating education in the state.”
According to him” Kano State government released 45 million Naira to the Community Re-orientation Committee, CRC to rehabilitate dilapidated schools.
“However, the governor approved the construction of two-story classroom blocks in each of the 44 local government areas, and I can say that from the inception of our government, all 44 LGAs had received 150 million each on education, which is just starting.
“I am calling on teachers who unattended to schools, especially in the rural areas, to avoid such habit because we are ready to take decisive action against anyone found with such act” he stated.
In his remarks, Kano State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Haruna Umar Doguwa, thanked the management of KSSSMB for providing the schedule of duties and appealed to the zonal directors, principals, and teachers to work with the guidelines to achieve the desired objectives.
Briefing Journalists on the reasons for creating zonal and state speech and prize giving day, the Executive Secretary KSSSMB, Dr. Kabiru  Ado  Zakirai, said, “We want to encourage teachers and students on performance and to provide quality education. This would help in selecting the overall teacher and student in the state”.
However, ” We are planning to commence an entrepreneur course in 40 schools with at least three thousand students to teach them how to be self-reliant right from secondary schools,” he said.
We already established model science classes teaching students basic subjects in science and thank God that 2,800 students have graduated from the classes going to the University.
